Getting to Know More about Eric Lapin’s Achievements

When you are from South Carolina and you are a person who loves Music, you certainly came across the name Eric Lapin. This is specifically if you are into playing the clarinet. Eric is teaching clarinet at the Clemson University under the performing arts department. He finished a bachelor degree in Music and a master of music degree in clarinet performance in University of South Carolina. He started with his great mentor Ilya Shterenberg, the former Charleston Symphony Orchestra Principal Clarinetist. He also studied with the two popular names in clarinet performance: Doug Graham and Joseph Eller. Eric up to this day continues to be active in clarinet performance as well as in teaching the subject in the entire South Carolina. He is a member of the prestigious Pi Kappa Lambda and the International Clarinet Association. Just recently he was one of the performers in Piccolo Spoleto Festival Orchestra.

Eric is a popular professor to his students. He teaches classical clarinet performance but he makes it contemporary in his methods. He even resorts to YouTube when he does his lectures. This makes his students love the subject matter more, despite the dwindling interest that people have for the classics. Mr. Lapin is also known to help hi students when they tend to show some slack in studying his subject matter. This is particularly true when it comes to reading notes. Mr. Lapin also makes his subject matter really easy which is why a lot of students would learn to love the subject. In fact, at first glance you would find him unassuming bordering lack of confidence, but he is truly well-versed in his music that he easily gains back the respect from his students once he starts talking.

Eric is one rare talent to find. Hence, if you are after a performance and musicality that’s like no other, you better look for him when you happen to be in South Carolina.
